Electric Cars

by Derek

Electric cars have been around since the 1830’s! So that means the tesla is in fact a really old idea!!! People in the early 1900s bought electric cars because they were MUCH easier to use. Gas cars were hard to start because you had to crank them. They were also dangerous to start. And if it backfires It could break your wrist. Also shifting gears was a nuisance to do on the gas cars. But there was one big problem with electric cars.

Electric cars were always more expensive. The Buffalo Stanhope costs $1,650 that’s around $50,000 in today’s money. The Rauch and Lang cost $3,000. That is about the same as what a tesla costs today, $75,000. Gas cars cost less than half as much as an electric car!

However, electric cars were making a comeback, the United States was running out of oil since World War II. Now gas has become more expensive than anyone thought possible! And so, interest in electric cars has spiked! But there was one MAJOR consequence, all of that carbon that was released into the air started global warming.

Now I have a riddle for you, what can lift a thousand pounds a thousand meters and can fit in a teacup? Gasoline, which is why we are so careless when using it.

Well to find out why it releases carbon, let’s start at the beginning. During Jurassic times, there were many volcanic eruptions that released millions of carbon atoms into the atmosphere causing the world the cook. Now let’s talk about the water, there were millions of microscopic plants that absorbed most of the carbon. But earth was still cooking which meant things were dying. But all the carbon in the dead plant corpses which meant it was being pressurized which meant it was turning into oil!

Let’s go back to the present. Like I said we are releasing carbon into the air just as the volcanoes did a long time ago. So now we can predict what’s going to happen next, temperatures will rise. Electric cars can help us get rid of that possibility. If we stop now there might be enough plants to get rid of the carbon and SAVE THE WORLD!!!!

Now let’s talk about a first step to make the electric car renewed again. This step was the GM EV1 impact, this car was an awesome car that started back up in the 1990s. Now people LOVED the impact, but it lost its momentum due to prices, because of a new problem the car companies killed the idea because they didn’t want to change.

But now, in the 21st century electric cars hit back harder than ever!!! With technology increasing electric cars have made another push!!!! Plus we made the Nissan leaf which ran approximately 60- 100 miles, so therefore it meets the needs of a typical driver. And it costs as low as $21,000.    As well as the fact that cars cost approximately the same thing that it was a century ago kind of helps the equation. Another thing that changes the equation this does too, we have to come back to price, like I have said it is STILL the most important thing in business. And as I’ve said, electric car companies must lower prices to get more people to buy them.

And now we come back to square one. What will happen if we continue on our current path? Carbon emissions will increase global warming. Gas prices will continue to rise, and we will continue to lose our supply of gasoline until we have nothing left to power our lives.

Electric cars technology is advancing! Electric cars are becoming less expensive and are starting to look like gas cars. You can charge electric cars at your house, and I bet you can’t fill up your gas guzzler at home!

It’s time to turn things around! Gas cars are polluting and are bad for the environment. The carbon emissions that come out of the tail pipe are polluting the air we breathe. Electric cars are polluting less. The fuels for gas cars are too expensive. It’s $2:50 per gallon. Which would you prefer full tank or empty wallet, it’s up to you.

The electric car started its life in the 1830’s. People bought electric cars in the 1800’s and early 1900’s because gas prices were spiked. Electric cars were not as popular as gas powered cars because oil was found in Texas and gasoline was easier and cheaper to access. Due to the cheap cost of gas, electric cars became less popular because almost everyone had gas cars and wanted cheaper prices. Some main problems with electric cars back then would be that they cost over $1,000. Another problem would be that, if disposed of improperly, the battery that contains toxic chemicals that could pollute our Earth. In the 1970’s there was an energy crisis, and oil supply was low. Solution; the electric car. People started designing electric cars once more. They are no longer extinct! During the energy crisis there were long lines of cars for gas. The electric car di8dn’t need gas. Therefore, people thought electric cars were better than gas cars. The electric car became more and more popular during the energy crisis.

What can lift a thousand pounds a thousand meters and can fit in a tea cup? Answer: gas! This means gas can power a car to go 1,000 meters and lift 1,000 pound all at once. To make gasoline we need to burn a very important resource, fossil fuels. Ancient plants inhaled carbon and then died. After over a million years of being buried and cooked under- ground they turned into oil, coal, and natural gas. When people burn fossil fuels toxic gas gets released into the air. Consequently, gets released into the atmosphere. Electric cars can help the environment by not polluting with the carbon emissions that come out of the tailpipe, and with the factories that manufacture them.

The GM EV1 Impact was the first two-passenger sports car that can go 80 mph in one charge. GM destroyed their own cars for many reasons, including: All of their factories were set up to manufacture gas cars. The Impact was still built by hand and still overpriced. GM didn’t think they could make much money. Yet, the electric car could force the gas car out of business. Electric cars are becoming popular for the third time in history due to gas prices being spiked. The Nissan Leaf can travel 84 miles per hour in one charge. The Nissan Leaf does meet the needs of a typical driver due to you only have to charge it when you have driven 84 miles. The cost of a Nissan Leaf is about $29,000 in price range.

The cost of an electric car 100 years ago is about $3,000. The cost of an electric car today would be about $30,000. What must happen to make electric cars more popular is build more and more charging stations. The consequences to people driving gas cars are brutal. There will be more pollution in our air. We will eventually run out of fossil fuels. People should pollute less if they want clean air, if not, their loss.

IT’S TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE! Gas cars are so last century! People are tired of carbon emissions polluting our air.  Also, people are losing over 50 dollars a week and gas can empty your wallet. It’s not new but it needs to come back. Electric cars need to hit the top of the chart! Electric cars are better because they have fewer problems unlike gas cars. People might not notice the electric car but we need to show them the power behind the electric car.  The benefits of the electric are no pollution, not nosey, and it is smoother on the road. IT’S TIME TO BRING ELECTRIC CARS BACK!

You probably want to know to know when the first electric car was built, well I’m going to tell you! The first electric car was made in1830. WOW THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO! People bought electric cars in the 1800’s and 1900’s because they were better for the environment. Right now electric cars are more popular because they are still better for the environment plus since the 1800’s and 1900’s the electric cars looks more like a gas car. Once people started liking electric cars again gas prices went down. The problem with electric cars back then was they were small and didn’t go so fast. ELECTRIC CARS ARE IMPORTANT!

In the 1970’s there was an energy crises when a group of countries agreed to stop selling oil for six months, it was then electric cars made a comeback and had almost been extinct for over 50 years. The environment consequence of cars is that gas cars are polluting the air. ELECTRIC CARS CAN MAKE A DIFERENCE!

Do you know what can lift a thousand pounds and a thousand meters and can also fit in a tea cup? Oil! That’s right oil might be very small filled in a tea cup but a tea cup filled with oil is very powerful!

Do you know what fossil fuels are , well fossil fuels are little plants that fall to the bottom of the ocean and cook over millions and millions of years, then they turn to oil. Cool right! I know that’s what I thought when I first heard that. GO ELECTRIC CARS!

Burning fossil fuels pollutes the air. Polluting the air is very dangerous. Electric cars can help the environment because they don’t pollute the air, they go faster than gas cars, and they are smooth on the road. WE NEED ELECTRIC CARS!

The GM EV1 impact was an electric car that GM made and sold then they took all of them back and destroyed them, although people liked them. So after that the impact on electric cars disappeared. GM destroyed all of their cars because all of their factories made gas cars and it would be hard to go from making gas cars to making electric cars. GIVE ME AN E AND A C WHAT DOES THAT STAND FOR ELECTRIC CARS!

Electric cars are becoming popular for a third time because they are better for the environment and they have better quality for people. A Nissan leaf can travel 80 to 100 miles on one charge. The Nissan leaf also meets the needs of the typical driver. The Nissan leaf cost 21,510 dollars. LET’S GO ELECTRIC CAR LET’S GO!

100 years ago an electric car cost 1,000 to 2,000 dollars, right now electric cars cost 40,000 to 50,000 dollars. First we need to make and advertise the electric car, so electric cars can be more popular. The consequences if people continue driving gas cars is the gas cars would just pollute the air even more. WE NEED TO BRING ELECTRIC CARS BACK, NOW WHO’S WITH ME?

Electric Cars

Zach

The first electric car was made before the Civil war. Gas cars are out of still electric cars are in. Gas cars are polluting the air so let’s take charge for electric cars.  Getting  gas is means your wallet is getting empty.

Gas is expensive my Mom and Dad pay 50 dollars to fill it up. In 1970s there was an energy crisis. Electric cars are coming back because there wasn’t a lot. Gas prices shot up because giving they stopped giving us gas. Electric cars were almost  estimated because the gas cars were so cheap.

Oil can move a thousand pounds a thousand meters. Oil is very powerful it can move cars. I love Electric cars but gas cars are powerful.

GM destroyed  their own cars because they did not want any one to have their cars and they wanted all the credit  for the Electric cars.

Electric cars are coming back for the third time because there was a lot of  improvements.  The electric cars are good and it is very high tech.  It has good dependability and it is very good.

The Nissan Leaf can go 107 miles on one charge. That’s a lot of miles.  Amgen how much a Tesla  will go on one charge. I am going to make an estimate I think it will be 270 miles with one charge.

The cost of the neson leaf is 27,000 dalliers. That’s a lot of money. I sure do not have that kind of money.

The electric cars from today compared to the electric cars from 100 years ago. 100 years ago electric cars were not rechargeable. Electric cars from today are rechargeable.

The consequences of using gas cars is the air will get green and it will be hard to breath and it will cause lung cancer and people will die.

Electric Cars

It’s time to stop, and think about what we’re doing to the earth! Gas cars are polluting the earth, and we need to do something about it! Electric cars are more than 150 years old and do not pollute the earth. Gas cars pollute the air and give out terrible emissions that harm the earth. A full tank of gas can cost more than $50! Nobody wants to spend that much for gas. Also, gas-powered cars change the climate.  They are making the earth hotter, which endangers some animals, including polar bears! L

Electric cars were made in the 1800s and the early 1900’s by Robert Anderson. In that time, Electric-powered car sales soared because of the problems gas cars had. The motors gave out a pungent smell and were very loud. They were a nuisance when you had to change the gears and drivers constantly wrestled with the gear shifter. Also, it was very dangerous to start the car because if you turned the starting handle the wrong way, you could break your wrist! Electric cars were quiet and easy to use.

Electric cars have always been expensive. Makers have tried to reach more prosperous customers.  In the 1900s, most gas cars cost about $1,000, which would be about $25,000 today. But electric cars cost more than $3,000, about $75,000 today! But since nobody wanted to pay that much, only prosperous people bought electric cars. Soon, gas-powered car makers improved their cars.  Plus, their cars were less expensive. By the 1920’s, the United States had made many good roads for people to travel on. People started to look to gas cars because of the cheap gas prices and the improvements on the car. Soon there were no more electric cars.

In 1973, there was an energy crisis. A group of countries decided to not sell oil to the United States for 6 months. Gas prices spiked and there were very long lines just to get gas. It was then that people began to realize that the electric car needed to make a comeback.

Gas-powered cars give out carbon monoxide, which traps heat in the earth. If carbon monoxide keeps getting trapped in the earth, global warming will get worse and worse.

I have a riddle for you: what can lift a thousand pounds a thousand meters and can fit in a teacup? Let me give you second to think about that…… Oil, that’s what! Oil itself, can’t literally pick things up, but if put in the right conditions, it can be quite powerful. It is made by ancient, dead plant cells. For millions of years, they are cooked under the earth’s surface and are pressed underground until they finally became oil, natural gas, fossil fuels, and coal. They can be very useful. But, they can also be bad for the environment. They are making the earth hotter and hotter. Global warming is getting worse and worse. People do not want that to happen. Electric cars can help us to STOP global warming. ELECTRIC IS THE FUTURE!!

In the 1990’s, the electric car made a comeback. They made a law that you have to sell electric cars if you want to sell gas cars in California. So, General Motors made the GM EV1. People LOVED the car. It was fast, quiet, and AWESOME! J Everybody wanted one. But, General Motors took back all of the GM EV1s and DESTROYED them! Right now, you are probably asking yourself: Why would GM destroy cars that they created?

Well, all of the GM factories were made to build gas cars. They did not want to destroy factories and build new ones. They didn’t want to take out gas tanks out of the ground from old gas stations. The reason: They didn’t have the 2 main things they needed: time and money. The GM EV1 had to be made by hand, which took time. And, of course, making electric cars costs a lot of money. Also, cars companies do not want gas companies to get mad at them because gas companies might go out of business. Electric cars once again died off again.

Finally, electric cars are becoming popular for the THIRD time in history. Technology has improved so much since the electric car was first invented. This time, electric cars might not die out again. There have been more and more charging stations in US. There have been some new electric cars coming out, too. One of these cars is the Nissan Leaf. The Nissan Leaf can travel 80 to 100 miles in one charge. That’s about 8 miles a day! The Nissan Leaf has everything the average driver needs: It’s not too small and it is not too expensive. The Nissan Leaf costs about $25,000 to $29,000. It even has a solar panel on it to charge the radio. Plus, electric cars can chage at your home! I bet you can not bring your gas guzzler home!

  Electric Cars

by Taylar

It’s time to make a change! Electric cars were made in the 1830’s. That was a long time ago.  Now people have gas cars. You send like $2.50 on a gallon that’s like $50.00 on gas a week.  Hello people, it’s time to get a new car! Now electric cars are making a comeback because gas cars are bad for the environment. Gas cars pollute, they are smelly, and noisy. Electric cars are quiet, they don’t pollute, and they don’t’ smell.

The first electric car was invented in 1830 by a man named Robert Anderson. Everyone wanted an electric car in the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s because of the new invention of the lead-acid batteries. When everyone wanted an electric car the prices of gas went down. When very one wanted a gas car, gas prices went up. So then everyone wanted an electric car.

A century ago we produced 60% to 70% of the world’s oil supply. After World War II the U.S.A. could not drill enough oil for cars and homes.  Since there was no oil, electric cars made a comeback!   If we had no oil we had to buy from other countries even though they weren’t too friendly to us.  After a while, we had an energy crises other countries stopped selling their oil for 6 whole months! So then if we had no oil they gas prices went up.  Since we had little oil there were huge gas lines! Electric cars are better than gas cars because gas cars pollute. Electric cars pollute too when they are being built in factories.

What can fit in a tea cup can lift a 1,000 pounds and 1,000 meters?  Oil!  That’s right it’s oil. Oil can be very powerful even though it can fit in a tea cup!

Fossil fuels are formed by burning coal, oil, and natural fuel in factories, automobiles, and electric power plants. When these substances are burnt for fuel or energy, carbon dioxide, and other gases are released into the atmosphere (air). Gas prices will keep on going up if we keep on burning fossil fuels.  These gases build up the atmosphere over time. The gases let much of the energy of sunlight pass through the air warm Earth’s surface. Earth surface then radiates (sends out) heat energy back into the air.  Electric cars can help the environment by not polluting the air. Pollution makes temperatures go up witch causes global warming.

A GM EV1 is a type of car. A GM EV1 was made by the company G.M. Everyone loved it because it was fast. Someone back then ask people for their EV1s and said they will give it back. Took all the cars and destroyed them because they did not want to change. It’s rude to take someone’s car away say you will give it back, and destroy it. They also destroyed them because they thought they would not make enough money. How rude! The GM EV1 was handmade so that means it took a while to do. It was slow and very expensive to do. They only made four cars a day. All of G.M.’s factories were made to build gas cars. Electric cars could make gas cars out of business.

Electric cars came back a third, A THIRD time in history! They came back because electric cars are better for the environment.  One of the electric cars is called the Nissan Leaf.

A Nissan leaf can go 80 to 100 miles in one single charge. A Nissan Leaf meets a typical driver because it’s a good pricing and it can charge while you are not driving because it has solar panels. A Nissan Leaf is $25,925. Some electric cars look like gas cars.
